Civil rights activists are not happy with American Idol’s decision to allow Antonella Barba to continue. A celebrity rally will be held Tuesday at the Kodak Theater to protest what many think is Idol’s double standard. Four seasons ago, Frenchie Davis had porno (She claims lingerie. Ahem, no, they were porno) shots which were never seen by the public or Idol producers that led to her being kicked off the show. This is in contrast to Idol letting Antonella stay despite her one-girl wet t-shirt contest at the WWII Memorial.
Without beating around the bush, civil rights activist Najee Ali, celebrities, community leaders and Chris Tian & Friends for Frenchie Davis, will confront “American Idol” this Tuesday claiming a double standard exists.
I didn’t watch Idol four seasons ago, so I looked up Frenchie Davis. Trust me, she’s not someone you want to see naked. In fact, thank you Idol for kicking her off and ending everyone’s inevitable misery over said pictures. Furthermore, those shots of Antonella Barba giving a bj have been discredited which further distances her from Frenchie. And while it’s true they may both just be avid models, that’s where the similarities end. There’s a big difference between making my pants tight and scarring my retina. First of all, the pics of Antonella, are not porn, nor are they nude. They are what models are doing nowadays. Frenchie Davis (although I haven’t seen her photos), has a right to complain about being let go for posing topless, but can she prove that’s why she was really let go? I dont’ think so. I will totally agree with you on that, if you think these pictures are offensive then you need to stay off the internet because there are a lot worse on sites like my space and other group sites. She is just doing what half of America is doing. These pictures are not that bad compared to what else it out there.
