Home and Away is the rival to “Neighbours” on Aussie TV – Neighbours being the soap where Kylie made her name. That show was also the springboard for the likes of , Alan Dale of the OC (who played Kylie’s father-in-law) Holly Valance of Prison Break Guy Pearce of L.A. Confidential and Memento, Radha Mitchell, Natalie Imbruglia as well as a few others I seem to remember (Russell Crowe was famously in a couple of episodes in his early career).

Danni Minogue was once married to Nip Tuck’s Julian McMahon (another ex-Home & Away cast member) whose dad is a former Australian Prime Minister.

She’s now a judge on the Simon Cowell show “X-Factor” in the UK, which IIRC was the successor to “Pop Idol” – which of course became “American Idol” in the US. I have to say that it’s quite bizarre to see Danni Minogue pronouncing on the singing ability of others, since her rather feeble pop-career was almost entirely fashioned in the slipstream of her sister’s success and her time as a character on a low-rent Antipodean soap opera.
