Hayden Panettiere failed to save the dolphins at the annual dolphin slaughtering festival in Japan. The anti-whaling group known as Sea Shepherd paddled out on surfboards towards a secret cove to try and stop local fisherman from killing those delicious yet intelligent mammals. They were defeated by the advanced weaponry wielded by their foes, a motorboat and a long pole. Dismayed, Sea Shepherd begrudgingly paddled back to shore and cried.
“This baby stuck its head out and kind of looked as us, and the thought that the baby is no longer with us is very difficult,” Panettiere, who stars in the NBC show “Heroes,” said after coming ashore.
