Forbes has named Nicole Kidman the most overpaid celebrity in Hollywood citing only a 1:1 return on every $1 she was paid. A year ago, she had an 8:1 return.
“The Invasion,” a remake of the 1956 classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” lost $2.68 for every dollar earned by Kidman who was reportedly paid $17 million for her role.
Coming in second is Jennifer Garner, $3.60 for every $1 paid. Rounding out the rest of the top 10 are Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Jim Carrey, Nicolas Cage, Drew Barrymore, Will Ferrell and Cate Blanchett.
I have no problems with this list. Except for Will Ferrell. He shouldn’t even be on it. Not because I don’t believe Forbes, but because he’s not funny and shouldn’t be paid this much. He’s like the Mark Whalberg of comedy. Everytime execs watch his movies, they must think, “Man that Will Ferrell is impressive. He does a dead on impression of Will Ferrell. What an amazing actor. Let’s throw more money at him.”
