Britney Spears recently named “If U Seek Amy” as the next single off her new album. This in turn infuriated the Parents Television Council (huh?). They say that even though the lyrics are “If U Seek Amy” it is essentially saying “F-U-C-K M-E.” Now other parents have been complaining to radio stations and demanding they only play the song between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. They claim that it “violates the broadcast indecency law.” Whatever that is.
“There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song, and it’s certainly not about a girl named Amy,” PTC president Tim Winter said. “It’s one thing for a song with these lyrics to be included on a CD so that fans who wish to hear it can do so, but it’s an entirely different matter when this song is played over the publicly owned airwaves, especially at a time when children are likely to be in the listening audience.”
Okay, that is pretty cool. Screw the PTC — who should only be allowed to whine about TV — and bored soccer moms. Usually, I’m a all for making fun of Britney, but this time she did something mildly interesting. Let her enjoy this. She hasn’t received this many accolades in months. Ever since she fit a record breaking 30 marshmallows in her mouth without choking, it’s been all downhill… until now.
Britney Spears’ Racy “If U Seek Amy” Hits the Radio, Angers Parents [Rolling Stone]
Technically, it sounds like “F-U-C-K me” not “F-U-C-K Amy”
Ur so wrong. It spells out “F-u-c-k ME!” or did you copy this from another blogger like usual?
Fixed
Good job vinegar i was just writing to post that same thing. The “AMY” when combined with the K from SEEK is spelling the ME from F U C K ME…
