is upset that is bumping her out of all the promos for 2. Paltrow feels she’s being overlooked. While a spokesman for Paltrow says this is not the case and that her character, Pepper Potts, will be revealed later on, you know Paltrow is taking the cover of EW and poking holes in Scarlett’s face with her finger. From the NYDN:

“Gwyneth was afraid she’d be upstaged by Scarlett and not being in the campaign was the final straw,” a source said. “She is furious she’s been left out.”

I agree. Paltrow should be pissed. Just because Scarlett is younger, hotter, sexier, dressed in leather and every man’s fantasy, doesn’t mean Gwyneth shouldn’t be there too. Wow. I couldn’t even write that without cracking up. Maybe she can vent in her next GOOP newsletter. Right before she gives the home remedies she uses to naturally rejuvenate her vagina.

      After being on set for this movie and seeing both in-person, I have to disagree with everyone here. Scarlett is SO MUCH uglier than Gwyneth in real life! And Gwyneth is a LOT nicer. I really don’t see people’s obsession with Scarlett. I like Gwyneth a lot better as a person and as an actress. I do feel bad for her…

    Scarlett J. has great hair, a great body, but she is as homely as a mud fence! Take a GOOD look at her face…there is nothing beautiful about it…all the heavy makeup she has on is the only reason she is presentable, and the hair and body give the illusion that she is beautiful. Stick Scarlett next to a truly beautiful actress, and her face blends into the woodwork. She reminds me more of a chipmunk with lipstick on than anything else. The only actress who is homlier is Tori Spelling. Scarlett is beautiful compared to Spelling, but so is Rosie O. No, I am not jealous of Scarlett. I don’t see how she ever gets hired when compared to Megan Fox, who IS beautiful!

    Scarlett is in a whole other league. She is younger, not riding on the coat tails of her parents as far as Hollywood actors go – Gwyneth just needs to get over herself. She won the golden statue, but to me the role was mediocre and I just touted it as being not too much competition that year as far as movies up for the award.
    Scarlet at least can be seen in different movies and her characters believable. GOOP is the same in EVERY movie.
    I would advertise SJ over GP any day.

Shes suppose to be a refined assistant not some slut that wants to sleep with him. I’ll be very disappointed if shes changed. (I need good acting in this film not playboy bunnies)

And I’m sorry, Scarlett thinks she’s God’s gift to Hollywood, but you know what? Scarlett’s good at being Scarlett. And when she’s not good at that, she shows some cleavage to distract. Don’t agree?     Paltrow, has learned that you can’t tick off 1/2 of the country, with anti American comments, and survive at the box office. It ain’t gonna happen unless you are a very very good actor/actress.
    Saying basically it made you sick to see so many flags and patriotism after 9/11 isn’t and didn’t sit well with most Americans. And…she didn’t just voice anti American thoughts once she did it a second time too.
    The producers want to SELL their movie, and probably didn’t want the public to turn against it because of the comments she’s made in the past.
    It’s all about the money.
    This has NOTHING to do with being away to raise her family and not in the public eye recently. It’s all about her comments and the producers not willing to risk bad box office because of her association with their product.

    GP will outshine anyone who’s standing next to her. She doesn’t need to worry. And, she can sing to me all day long – I loved her duet with Huey Lewis.
    On her own, SJ is attractive, but when GP enters the room she disappears. Glamor beats trashy every time!

    I wonder how much of this Paltrow anger is true. Gwyneth Paltrow is a marvelous actress, and quite lovely and different from the usual Hollywood crop. She has no need to get embroiled in something like this. I do agree with Lizdee, however. Her unAmerican remarks and her very liberal stance do create a negative for much of the country. It’s one thing for entertainers to support the candidates of their choice, but I do remember the hate rhetoric, and I write off those who engage in it, and there are a lot of them: Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Gwyneth Paltrow, many more. Talented as they are, I can do without them. Why would I look to actors to shape my political views?

    It is true…Gwyneth is a has been, and although she has a very few accomplishments/credits to her name, I believe it is due mostly to her parents. She has not been cast for many parts as she is just not that talented and her looks are very bland with her freckles, very pale complexion, very straight and wispy hair and sagging ear lobes. I am sure there will be other opportunities, just it should be behind-the-scenes, possibly a voice over for animated films.

    Actually, Maggie, Gwynweth stole the Oscar from Cate Blanchette! (Meryl Streep & Emily Watson were contenders, too, and more deserving than Paltrow!)– Same with the whole film: Shakespeare in Love robbed Saving Private Ryan that year, too…

    Gwyneth is a whiner and always has been… And it’s not Scarlett’s fault what the producers decide to do with regards to promotion… She isn’t in charge of that. She doesn’t make those choices…

    I think that Gwyn is a great actress and has been for many years. I can see how it would feel being tossed in the backseat after sitting up front for as long as she has. But it is like when you are an only child and all of a sudden..you get a baby bro or sis…you will be just as loved and important..but you have to take the backseat!     I can see why Scarlet Johansson (the younger femme fatale in black leather) is being pushed more then Gwyneth (who’s a supporting character anyway). Who should we focus on marketing the buxom redhead that every male from adolescence to their fathers in the audience (target demos) wants to see, or should we go with the Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover in a tasteful business suit giving us her patented cold half smile.     I think they both suck. All that airbrushing and photoshopping makes them seem beautiful when they’re just skinny and homely. The way they computerize movies these days makes them look like somewhere beneath that whiny diva, there might be some tiny glimmer of talent, then you realize, no, that’s just the lighting. They need someone up there who has been acting as long as they can remember because they wanted to be an actress, not because they wanted to be famous. Acting is an artform but people like them have turned it into a get rich quick scheme that’s all about vanity; who can be the skinniest? Who can create the biggest scandal? Both of them, as well as 85% or more of people in The Industry doesn’t deserve to be where they are and it’s a shame that those who truly want to act have to play into those afore mentioned.

    That’s messed up because both are very talented actresses. It just sucks for Gwyneth that Scarjo decided to pull herself together for Iron Man 2. She’s young and has huge tits that can sell the movie like how Megan Fox single handedly sold the Transformers movies.     I think Gwyneth is more upset about the money involved with the promos because if you are going to promote the movie with a different actress then you have to redo the money involved with the sequel pictures and that is going to fuck up everyone’s salary. Also the unprofessional behavior of the people involved with the movie as soon as Scarjo signed up probably upset her. While Downey and Rourke can deal with it because they’ve been around, you know that the director and everyone else working was acting real stupid. Just like how people were behaving retarded in Terminator Salvation, Hollywood is just getting unprofessional and people’s money is getting screwed around to satisfy the idiots who don’t even appreciate the dumb shit put in movies to entertain them.

I highly doubt Gweneth who is too evolved a person to take popularity seriously cares about this other than perhaps the politics behind it all. people need to use their brains. She IS all American.     You can’t believe everything you read especially when it comes to celebrity news, it’s considered entertainment. Unless you hear it first hand anyone with half a brain would have to wonder if it’s true, taken out of context, or misquoted. I like to read celebrity news as much as anyone but It’s entertainment and a lot of it set up to get readers. I’m sure everyone has heard the old hollywood saying “any press is good press” and a juicy celebrity catfight is a guanteed moneymaker. It’s amazing how people can get so excited and upset about people they don’t even know! Then willing to pass judgement and say mean things about thier talent or lack of and thier looks or lack of. I wonder if given the opportunity to meet these people in person if these things would be said to thier face. I bet not!
