As I recall, he wanted to terminate the show himself a while back. It's the show that destroyed their marriage as Kate gradually morphed from being a mother into being a camera hound off traveling all the time, leaving him home with the kids. He never seemed to like doing the show. Maybe he understands that with her running off to do what she has basically been doing the last year that their kids won't really have a mother, that he won't have them half the time, and that if someone stopped parading their family around like an elephant in a circus their family might actually have a chance. She wants to continue down the same destructive path...she'd sell her kids to the media to the highest bidder.
