Starting over isn’t easy or cheap. Kate Gosselin can attest to that. That’s because the new hair Kate got for the cover shoot of PEOPLE cost her $7,000.
“My haircuts are $950,” Ted revealed. “The color would have been about $500, and the extensions, which were great length extensions, would probably cost about $5000.”
Kate was excited about getting a new look to start off the new year, but was a little nervous about changing her trademark bangs. “We were together for about 20 hours and I would say 15 of those hours were working on Kate trying to convince her to cut her bangs,” Ted joked. “I felt like she was hiding behind that front piece.”
Despite the hesitation, he said the mother of eight “was really open to the entire process.” Ted summed up his vision for the TLC star: “I wanted to make sure I took her from being really ordinary to really extraordinary!”
Here I thought my $20 haircut was fancy. I guess I should have known I wasn’t getting the celebrity treatment when my “stylist” didn’t say anything about “bringing my hair from ordinary to really extraordinary” and, instead, grunted, sprayed me in the face with water and gave me the exact opposite of what I asked for.
It looks great, Kate!
If Kate Gosselin genuinely paid $7000 herself for this hairstyle and spent 20 hours of time getting it done, then she has lost me. I had a great deal of sympathy and understanding for her being a single mother supporting eight children but if she’s got money to throw away on something like this, then she’s a fool. It looks absolutely awful anyway. It just doesn’t suit her. Get a wig next time if you want to change your look, Kate.
I agree w/ Renee. If by ‘starting over’ she means neglecting her kids and pretending they were never born, then she’s doing quite well.
omg !! kate why not save that money for ur kids…
Let’s face it !!! It looks horrible !!
Give her a break you do gooders. Just because she has kids doesnt mean she cant look the way she wants to. Do you want to strip Jon of his given hair too!! She deserves a life too, so lay off!!!!
“Would” have cost her $7,000. Very doubtful she would be that stupid and brainless to actually fork out her own dough, not when she’s been so good at getting freebies from the sponsors during the show. This is probably no exception with People paying. Only problem is the extensions have to be maintained and treated now and then, who gets the bill?
