Paul Rudd was a Bat Mitzvah DJ in 1992

Three years before Clueless, Paul Rudd used to earn a living dj’ing Bat Mitzvahs. At least once anyway. Pics or it didn’t happen you say? Gabrielle Birkner of The Forward posted video of Rudd at her own Bat Mitzvah in 1992.

Rudd, donning a yellow tuxedo jacket, a ruffled shirt, shorts and Doc Martens, ably and energetically led us through all of the bat mitzvah staples: Candle-lighting, Coke & Pepsi, Toasts, limbo, “Hands Up,” Challah-cutting and “YMCA.” And as the “Today” show-themed bat mitzvah party came to a close, he invited my friends onto the dance floor to sing a moving rendition of “That’s What Friends Are For.”

Gabrielle forgot to mention how fashion forward Paul was with his tuxedo and long shorts combination. What a fantastic dresser. It almost beat out the skinny stone wash jeans and track suit jacket I wore back then.
