They won’t let Kanye West chill with his Phoenix

Kanye West tweeted the banned-in-the-USA cover for his upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy over the weekend. He wrote, “Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!” He followed up with,

In the 70s album covers had actual nudity… It’s so funny that people forget that… Everything has been so commercialized now.

I know that cover just blew yall minds … I wish yall could see how hard I’m smiling right now!!!

In all honesty … I really don’t be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers #Kanyeshrug!

I wanna sell albums but not at the expense of my true creativity.

So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can’t have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings.

According to the LA Times, however, the cover wasn’t banned. Kanye’s label said they would stand behind them if he chose to go with it but Kanye might have gone with a less controversial cover so stores like Wal-Mart would sell it. They’re implying Kanye is throwing a hissy fit to get publicity.

But back to the cover. It looks like it was drawn by a 10-year-old pervert. In fact, I think that 12-year-old that called Justin Bieber a “f****t” drew this. That kid has issues. I blame his parents.
