After much testimony from the owner of the jewelery store Lindsay Lohan allegedly stole the necklace from, Judge Sautner downgraded Lindsay’s felony charge to a misdemeanor but denied Shawn Holley’s motion to dismiss the case.
On the other hand, Judge Sautner agrees with DA Danette Myers that there was intent behind the theft because if it was a misunderstanding, Lindsay would have called Sofia, the store owner, to settle the matter. Lindsay only did that after the incident went public.
Sautner also ruled that Lindsay violated her probation and set a trial date for June 3rd and a pretrial date for May 11th. Basically, no prison for Lindsay and it’ll be handled as a probation violation.
As always, Lindsay escaped any serious consequences yet again. Short of running over the DA’s kid and pissing on their corpse, you probably won’t see Lindsay punished for anything. LA might as well make their Celebrity Edition Get Out of Jail Free cards official and start printing those suckers up.
