Beyoncé’s video for “Run the World (Girls),” which was supposed to be released last Friday but ended up being unexpectedly delayed, debuted on American Idol on Wednesday. The video, directed by Francis Lawrence (Water For Elephants, I Am Legend), is the first cut from Beyoncé’s upcoming album.
My thoughts? Why, glad you asked. First of all, Major Lazer should have stormed in and humped everything in sight. Second of all, does everything have to devolve into a dance off? Dancing never solved anything. If I was the police and had to watch this, I’d shoot myself in the head. Okay, so maybe it is an effective means of non-violent protest. But it’s still stupid.
Note: Does anyone else think that lion in the video looks stoned out of his mind?
