Russell Crowe Has Something To Say About Circumcision

Did you know Russell Crowe is on Twitter? It’s amazing because you can set him off without having to worry about a telephone being thrown at your head or being punched in the face.

The other day the topic of circumcision came up in Crowe’s Twitter feed. Someone asked him whether or not to circumcise his newborn son. Feeling impassioned, Russell tweeted back,

– Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect
– RT: @russellcrowe Interesting that female circumcision is widely considered barbaric, while male circumcision is so widely accepted.

Then this morning he tweets an apology and his previous tweets disappear.

PR reps. Sheesh. Can’t they ever let a guy speak freely about baby foreskin without getting all up in their grill? If it’s not “you’ll get bad publicity” this, it’s “you shouldn’t be talking about baby penises on Twitter” that.
