Kate Gosselin Might Be Broke

Celebrities don’t quite grasp the concept that the day will come when they lose popularity and the money will stop rolling in. It’s exactly the situation Kate Gosselin and her eight golden eggs are in right now.

Kate says she was unprepared for the cancellation of her TLC show and now can’t maintain her $2.5 million a year lifestyle. But Kate doesn’t want to deprive her children of the style of living they’re used to despite the fact she can’t afford it. She even considered going back to nursing. Boo hoo. This is me shedding a tear for her in my non-climate controlled room which is now bordering on 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Oh, never mind. The tear evaporated.

“I’m freaking out. Big time,” Kate says. “My kids weren’t ready. Nobody was. I’ve never quit a job in my life without having something else lined up. This has been ended for me on a moment’s notice. I don’t know what’s next.”

“Their first comment was, ‘No more fun trips?’” Kate says. “For them, no more job for Mom means no more trips, no more fun. They started asking, ‘Are we still going to be living in our house? Are we still going to be able to go to our school?’ I was not prepared for that.”

“I don’t want to take anything away that [the kids] have been given,” Kate says. “[I’ve saved] for a little while. People think we made gazillions of dollars, and we didn’t. After the show was canceled, I said, ‘I’ll go back to my old nursing job.’ If nothing comes up, I’ll do it. But the scary reality is, 12-hour nursing shifts every day wouldn’t let me continue to provide well for me eight kids.” — Holly Baby

Holly Baby has a rundown of Kate’s spending habits. Her frivolous expenses being the sole reason she’s going broke.

Kate has a full staff which costs $500,000: “Kate employs two housekeepers, two nannies, an assistant, and bodyguard Steve Neild.

The mom-of-eight’s $2,000 hair: “That’s what Kate paid last year for a cut, color and Brazilian keratin treatment at Ted Gibson’s NYC salon.”

Kate’s sprawling $1.3 million estate: “Kate’s 6,000 square foot five-bedroom mansion in Wernersville, Pa., sits on 24 secluded acres.”

Kate spends $500,000 on her children’s private school: “Her kids are in private school. At 5 grand a month for each child that adds up.”

Kate’s shopping sprees that costs ???: “Kate’s fashion tab is hard to know. TLC picked up much of it — but she loves to shop!”

If you’re a kid living in a hut in Africa who just sauntered into the newly constructed library complete with blazing fast 56k dial-up and stumbled on this page, then welcome to a taste of First World problems. Won’t you join us in feigning sorrow for Kate as she cries over having to settle for a $20 haircut and working a regular 9 to 5. Oh, the humanity!

First of all, why does she look so haggard in that pic? She looks like a skinnier, uglier Pink.

Second, so now you have to adjust your lifestyle? Welcome to the recession.

She says she wasn’t ready, but did she think this would go on forever? What an idiot.

We weren’t ready for the recession either … she sounds like she’s the only one “entitled” to be helped by America. Sounds to me, she’s soooooo afraid because she didn’t save any money…. OR she’s blackmailing America [saying she can’t afford to live] so America will maintain her lavish lifestyle. Hey, can we tell the unemployment office the money they give out does not maintain the lifestyle we were accustomed to??? hahahahahahahahahaha

Welcome to the real world, Kate. There are so many people in the US (and throughout the world) that have to worry every day about providing for their children – and I am not talking about expensive trips with matching wardrobes, but essentials like good food and decent clothes to wear on a daily basis, or a roof that does not leak. It is called “cutting back” – and an increasing number of families have been forced to do this over the past few years. I am sure Kate will survive just fine, and in the long run I think… Read more »

$20.00 haircut? Geez, I pay less than $20 for my haircuts! A $20 haircut is a luxury. HAHA.

I really do feel sorry for her kids. I think they have all kinds of emotional problems living with that woman. She is the most anal person I have ever seen. Complaining about getting wet when she is on a raft? What an idiot she is. She will get what is coming to her – a huge piece of humble pie. What a bitch.

TLC smartened up and got rid of her so let’s hope that all other channels feel the same way and just ignore her. Her 15 minutes of fame are over. She’s the only one who doesn’t see that. I really want the truth to come out about how her marriage ending was her idea. She kicked Jon out right after renewing their vows. Then she turned it around to make it look like she was devastated that he left. He was the one devastated. He has gotten his life back together so I think he should be the one raising… Read more »

By now, Kate has started to receive bills for some of the perks  that TLC used to pay for while they filmed:   Pool service, electric, gas, insurance, catered  meals on film days, housekeepers, personal assistants, gardeners, hair, spa, clothing, extra helping hands.

That and the lack of those big FAT paychecks that gave her all that disposable income not to mention the cost of batteries for  all the “toys” she needs  to replace the services  that Steve used to provide must be a shock!

Kate prove you are poor. I want to see all your bank accounts you have all over. If worried why did you just buy a 2 seater sports car? 8 kids can’t fit into the passenger seat But Steve can. Your house cost 2.5 now woth 1/2 that. Fire all your help. Nannies, cook,  Babbysitters, landscapers, now that your not a “Star” you don’t need a body guard (s) No more hair, Nails, tanning. You have enough shoes. Do the kids have bank accoubts of the money THEY EARNED. Or did you spend it

There is such a thing as downsizing. Kate let fame go to her head. When the children were babies, you used coupons ( I do not see that to be your way now). You “acted and talked” thrifty, your job was to save money and take care of the kids (no nannies) and clean your OWN house. Why do you use the kids as an excuse for moving into the mansion? You already had a 5 bedroom house after you completed the attic episode.  Sure glad TLC saw how you were taking them for a joy ride and now it… Read more »

Let me guess she is going on National Television and cry about being broke and needing money and pull out bills from her purse like she did when she and Jon were going through a divorce.  Crying on TV with bills in her hand and people sent her money!!  Churches sent her money!
It’s time to re enter the real world where people do work for a living, mediocre as it is.  So you can’t afford a 24 acre estate, sell it and move closer to your kids school and get less help.

time for the bitch to get back to the real world. Maybe instead of spending so much on her luxurious life style she should have been smart enough to save some. Maybe be greatful for all the wonderful free trips and things you and your family recieved and quit whining. Its not going to kill your kids to get a few less toys.

As a nurse I can say those 12 hour shifts have been awfully good to me and my family, KATE!!  I need only to work THREE a week to have my hours, and then if I need a little extra, I’ll pick up another shift somewhere in my fourteen day pay period.  Eight hours of which are time and half.  With the need for nurses, not too hard to do, Kate!!  Granted we work hard, and that’s something I realize is totally foreign to you, but we are paid pretty well.  No tears for you here, my friend!! My only… Read more »
