In an excerpt released from an upcoming Vanity Fair interview, compared doing photo shoots to being raped. Someone somewhere must have shaken their jowls in shocked disbelief because he’s now apologized for the comment.

“I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way. I never meant to. It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling,” Depp said in the statement. “I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology.” HuffPo Celeb

Everyone loves Johnny Depp. He could have gotten away with saying he wasn’t referring to rape rape and if that didn’t work, he could have personally gone up to critics, looked them in the eyes and said, “I’m sorry.” There’s a 100% chance they’d be speechless, turn red, fall in love and faint. That is, only if his expression isn’t like it is in the header pic because then the appropriate reaction would be to call the police to warn them about a possible stabbing.
