Lindsay Lohan Really Signed to Play Elizabeth Taylor

Following news that Lindsay Lohan didn’t royally screw up her Glee guest appearance comes a report that says Lindsay has officially signed on to play Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime’s original movie Liz & Dick.

Lindsay sent out a statement that read, “I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President, Programming of Lifetime Networks confirms the news, “We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”

Remember the days when it wouldn’t have taken Lindsay three months of begging to secure a role in an original Lifetime movie? She’d just have to say yes and they’d have already done a line of blow together — a Hollywood Handshake — to seal the deal before 10 minutes were even up. Now the only lines of blow she’s going to be near is an actual line outside a casting agent’s office.

THis has to be one of the worst casting choices ever!  Dita von Teese would have been the perfect depiction of Elizabeth Taylor NOT Lindsay, totally inappropriate casting there.  Wonder who the Lohans know from “lifetime’ that felt bad enough for them to be suckered into that, since that, or casting couch are the only possible explanations for this lunacy.
