Taylor Kitsch’s Career Is Going Well

After turning in a surprising performance on Friday Night Lights, surprising in that he wasn’t the brain dead male model everyone thought he was, Taylor Kitsch’s career seemed to be on an upswing. He was attached to star in Disney’s big budget John Carter and Universal’s Battleship. His career showed a lot of promise. Until the films actually released.

John Carter had a 52% critic score and 64% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes while Battleship has a 33% critic score and a 56% audience score. Suffice to say, both films bombed at the box office and his latest movie, Oliver Stone’s Savages which is going up against Spider-Man, looks to be headed in the same direction.

Point being, not a lot of critics think Taylor Kitsch can survive three bombs. Orlando Bloom had two, Elizabethown and Kingdom of Heaven, and he’s still wallowing in obscurity.

Then again, Orlando is still rich from those Pirate movies and he’s banging Miranda Kerr so Taylor Kitsch will probably be just fine. Look at Colin Farrell. That dude disappeared for a few years and he’s now in the Total Recall remake. Hollywood is forgiving and the public has a short memory. I probably saw three movies last month and I can’t remember a single one of them.
