After all of the judges on American Idol were given their walking papers, rumors started that Mariah Carey was on tap to be one of the judges for next season. Now it’s all but confirmed. FOX says Mariah is on board for season 12.
Her salary is expected to be between $12 million and $17 million. For reference, Jennifer Lopez started at $12 million for her first year.
The only original judge remaining on the show is Randy Jackson but reports are saying this may be his last year.
Looks like next season I’ll be paying attention to Idol. Only because I want to see what demands Mariah has in her rider. I hope it’s something ridiculous like requiring Nick Cannon to be on the show so she can use him as a footstool.
