The first thing I said when I heard Avril Lavigne and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger were engaged was WTF? Chad Kroeger? Nickelback? Holy hell. Then I let it sit for a minute and realized they were a perfect match. Nickelback is pretty much the Avril Lavigne of rock. So, yea, congrats.
As far as how they met? Chad co-write a song for Avril’s fifth studio album and as they got to know each other, “a romantic relationship blossomed.” Kroeger got down on one knee and/or sang a formulaic and safe rock song to propose to her.
Kroeger would be a complete 180 from her previous husband Deryck Whibley. That marriage was spent mostly in a drunken haze giving the finger to and spitting on paparazzi.
