Emma Watson says because she’s a higher profile celebrity, dating is hard. In the new issue of Glamour, Emma explains she’s had trouble dating because guys think she’s always seeing someone since she’s always photographed with a guy. Like when her friend got her tickets to Coachella for her birthday. She wasn’t going to say no and “it was a huge crowd, and I thought there was no way anyone could get pictures of me, but somehow they found me.”

She continues, “It’s difficult on my dating life because anyone I get photographed with is automatically my boyfriend. So it just makes it look like I’ve had like, 6,000 boyfriends.” I’m not sure what the problem with that is except for maybe an increased risk of her having caught an STD but whatever. I’d still hit it. Even if afterwards I find a mutant crab claw latched onto my scrotum.

And don’t say it doesn’t matter because I don’t have a chance. I do. Albeit a very slim one. “I try not to (date other stars),” she says. “It definitely makes me nervous. I haven’t tried to make others celebrity friends or date people who are in my industry, because it’s difficult and it can be really superficial. I’m lucky that most of the people I’ve dated I’ve been at university with.” See? I just have to enroll in her university and maybe follow her home from class one night.

Then there’s even more good news. She’s growing out her hair. But only for movie roles and not to look appealing to men or anything. “If I had it my way, I would have just kept it short forever. Of course, men like long hair. There’s no two ways about it. The majority of the boys around me were like, ‘Why did you do that? That’s such an error.’ And I was like, ‘Well, honestly, I don’t really care what you think!’ I’ve never felt so confident as I did with short hair — I felt really good in my own skin.”

Some women have this crazy notion that men don’t like short hair because it means she has a strong personality. That’s laughable and can’t be further from the truth. The simple fact is, on 90% of women, short hair looks ugly and men don’t like to bang ugly.
