Guillermo del Toro Directing Emma Watson in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Remake

Hollywood must have a hard-on for Beauty and the Beast. Not only did Mary-Kate Olsen and Vanessa Hudgens star in a terrible retelling of the story called Beastly last year, but Kristen Kreuk is starring in a series of the same name on the CW. Also terrible and expected to be canceled within 6 months. Tops.

Now Emma Watson is attached to star in her own version of the tale. The only difference here is it might be good as she managed to convince Guillermo del Toro to direct despite the “cheesy and kooky” script.

“The script came to me and it was a little bit cheesy and kooky, and I was like, ‘I don’t really want to do this’. I said, ‘The only reason I would do it would be if someone like Guillermo del Toro did it.’

“Greg Silverman, who’s the head of Warner Brothers, said to me, ‘Well, why don’t you email him?’

“So I did, and he emailed back saying, ‘Beauty is my favorite fairytale. It’s a story I’ve always wanted to tell. I can’t let anybody else do this project, and I think you’re perfect for it.’ And we started talking, having these three-hour conversations.”

Since it’s Guillermo, I hope the beast in this story is a real beast with half his face gone and eyeballs in his hands and he’ll have no redemption in the end. He’ll just end up killing Emma Watson and eating her. The moral of the story being ugly people can’t be trusted.

Below is her wardrobe malfunction at the Perks of Being a Wallflower premiere last month where you could see her pasty.
