Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash has not been having a good month. A third accuser, this one going by the name “John Doe,” has come out and alleged he and Clash had a sexual relationship when he was only 16.
The now 29-year-old, who will file a lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court on Tuesday, says he’s from the South and came to New York 13 years ago to model. Alright, red flags are already going off.
He too describes meeting Clash on a gay sex chat line. He claims Clash went by the name “Craig” and claimed to only be 30 when the two met.
After a couple days of feeling each other out, Clash invited him to his apartment. John Doe says they engaged in “some sexual activity.” The two met again in 2003 and 2004 and he finally figured out who Clash was when “He saw Elmo dolls, an Emmy award and photographs of Elmo with movie stars.”
Hey, maybe he was just a big fan of Elmo. Who knows? Are you sure it was Clash? I imagine there are a ton of gay dudes who stick their hands up puppets for a living and are also into 16-year-olds. Maybe he was a Clash admirer. I’m just saying we don’t have all the facts.
Anyway, John Doe said he started writing a book in 2009 about his experience and that excerpts from it will be read at a press conference Tuesday.
Oh and if his immense pain and suffering brings him a publisher for his book and a six figure check, then que sera, sera. “Ya know what I mean? It’s like, whaddya call it? A lucky happenstance.”
