Snowmobiler Caleb Moore Dies After X Games Crash

Caleb Moore, 25, died this morning in Colorado from a “brain complication” stemming from a crash he suffered while competing at the Aspen X Games last week.

Caleb was going for an indie air on his snowmobile but came up short on the landing. The 450 lb snowmobile ended up flipping and landing on his head and chest as it rolled down the hill. He was rushed to the hospital with a severe concussion and bleeding of the heart.

Reads a statement released by ESPN, “We’ve worked closely on safety issues with athletes, course designers and other experts for each of the 18 years of X Games. Still, when the world’s best compete at the highest level in any sport, risks remain.”
