Deadspin has a fantastic write-up about Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o, a Mormon linebacker from Notre Dame who led his school to victory while pretending to have a girlfriend for around a year before she reportedly died of leukemia. I say pretended to have a girlfriend because she was made up. She wasn’t real. He and his friend perpetrated the lie for what seems like a publicity stunt.
And before you say anything, this is nothing like my girlfriend. She’s real. Unlike Manti Te’o, I can touch her waxy lips attached to her broom handle figure and run my fingers through her mop-like hair.
