Cory Monteith Checked Into Rehab

Glee star Cory Monteith has checked into rehab for substance abuse. Says his rep, “Cory Monteith has voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction. He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.” 20th Century Fox issued its own statement calling Cory a beloved member of the Glee family and wishing him well.

This will not be the first time he’s gone to rehab. In a 2011 interview with Parade, he said he dropped out of school at 16 to become a full time addict and that “I had a serious problem.” Unlike AS$P Rocky, it wasn’t f*cking.

Friends and family staged an intervention when he was 19 and got him into rehab. When he left, he “went back to doing exactly what I left off doing.” He hit rock bottom when he was caught stealing money from a family member and was given an ultimatum. Get clean or be reported to the cops. That’s when Monteith got a job as a roofer and worked with an acting coach.

Now that he’s 30 he’s on the hit show Glee. Everything worked out great. Except for that pesky little rehab stint.

His girlfriend, Lea Michele, tweeted on Sunday, “Feeling so grateful today <3.” Thankfully for everyone involved, she didn’t follow that up with, “He’s only like this when he drinks. I swear!”
