Demi Lovato’s Mother Made Her Swear She Wouldn’t Kill Herself

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the 20-year-old Demi Lovato revealed that when she was 7, her mother and principal made her sign a contract promising she wouldn’t kill herself.

The 20-year-old singer revealed that she has battled depression since she was just 7 years old—when she first felt the spotlight on Barney & Friends.

“The principal called my parents and made me sign this suicide contract saying that I would not kill myself,” she told the mag. “They weren’t expecting that so young.”

I’m not sure how enforceable that is. What were they going to do if she did kill herself? Sue her? Like I said to the judge before I dropped to the floor and closed my eyes, “You can’t sue a dead man!”
