Of all the movies that should never be remade, Leslie Nielsen’s Naked Gun is one of them. Directed by David Zucker, it’s one of the greatest parodies ever produced. Nothing like the parodies these days which go for the cheapest laughs and the lowest paying cameos all wrapped in an indecipherable plot.
Hey, but Hollywood loves money and cocaine, so why not take that movie and remake it making sure children of the future will associate Naked Gun with the terrible remake rather than the hilarious original. Sure, there’s always a chance it could be an improvement, but that’s like you saying there’s a chance you could knock out Manny Pacquiao.
According to Variety, the remake will star Ed Helms and be written by Thomas Lennon and R. Ben Garant (Night at the Museum and Reno 911). I’m going to need a full body condom just to watch this.
