Ke$ha has checked into rehab to learn to love herself again. She explained in a statement, “I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder … to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.” She’ll be rehabbing at Timberline Knolls, the same place Demi Lovato was treated.
Supposedly, she developed an eating disorder after her “Get Sleazy” tour ended in 2011. Friends say her producer, Dr. Luke, was disgusted at the weight she put on during her downtime and started calling her fat and, during a music video shoot, even said she “looks like a f*cking refrigerator.”
Luke complained to her management to do something about it and, since there’s nothing more motivating than shame, Ke$ha started to get noticeably thinner. In April of last year, she posted pictures of herself on Instagram that showed a dramatically slimmed down version of herself. Everyone was all like, “Hey, that’s cool. Skinny chicks are awesome and so are tits. And those two exact things are in the photo.”
But when “Timber” was released, she looked even thinner worrying some while others simply wondered, “Really? Are you sure? She doesn’t look THAT skinny.”
It’s been said that Kevin James will run one of the weekly sessions at the rehab where he’ll teach patients how he overcomes feelings of disgust after eating a cheeseburger, an art he has seemingly mastered.
