Philip Seymour Hoffman Had 50 Bags of Heroin

New details coming out about Philip Seymour Hoffman’s overdose. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that 50 bags of heroin were found in his NYC apartment along with a lot of unused needles lending credence to the theory that he was gearing up for a heroin binge.

Both empty and unused heroin envelopes were branded with “Ace of Hearts” and “Ace of Spades,” street names for heroin.

Investigators also found, according to the two sources:

• More than 20 used syringes in a plastic cup.

• Several other bags containing white powder.

• Prescription drugs, including the blood-pressure medication clonidine hydrochloride; the addiction-treatment drug buprenorphine; Vyvanse, a drug used to treat attention-deficit (hyperactivity) disorder; hydroxyzine, which can be used to treat anxiety; and methocarbamol, a muscle relaxer. Authorities are investigating whether Hoffman had prescriptions for these drugs, the sources said.

Three days before, he was seen drinking in a downtown Atlanta bar where he seemed drunk and made repeated trips to the bathroom. The implication being that he was doing lines or had a really small bladder. Then on his flight out of Georgia, he was seen passed out. Not sure if there’s any significance to that considering that’s what most people do during a flight. What did you expect the guy to do, dance a little jig while you threw change at him?
