There’s Going to be a ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Sequel

Remember back in 1993 when Mrs. Doubtfire was the funniest thing ever and you thought there was nowhere to go but up for Robin Williams? Well it’s 2014 now and Robin Williams’ schtick got old taking him everywhere but up.

Anyway, what’s old is new again because they’re bringing back Mrs. Doubtfire. Fox 2000 is looking to develop a followup to the first hit with David Berenbaum writing the script. Berenbaum previously wrote Elf.

In the first one, Williams played a divorced dad who dresses up as an old British nanny so he can see more of his kids. It’s unclear what a sequel would be like but I have some ideas.

In my version, the kids have grown up and have to come to terms with the fact that being a crossdressing nanny was a gateway drug to the world of masking and now Robin Williams walks around the entire movie in a rubber doll suit.
