Tim Cook Declares His Gayness

For the hundredth time, Apple CEO Tim Cook is gay. I’m not sure if this was a big secret or why it actually matters to people, but, in a Businessweek editorial, Cook writes that he’s proud to be gay.

“So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me… I don’t consider myself an activist, but I realize how much I’ve benefited from the sacrifice of others. So if hearing that the CEO of Apple is gay can help someone struggling to come to terms with who he or she is, or bring comfort to anyone who feels alone, or inspire people to insist on their equality, then it’s worth the trade-off with my own privacy.”

Cook says being gay helped him better empathize with minorities and has given him a thick skin. That’ll come in handy when the Apple watch finally comes out because that thing looks hideous. The last time I’ve seen something so ugly was two weeks ago when I woke up after a night of drinking.
