Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly Will Also be Your True Detectives

The cast for the second season of True Detective is finally coming together. Joining Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell in the best series of last season (minus the finale) are Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly.

Adams will play Ventura County Sheriff Ani Bezzerides, a detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves.

Colin Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.

Kitsch will play Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle officer for the California Highway Patrol, running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened.

Kelly Reilly will play Jordan, Frank Semyon’s wife, a former D-list actress who is a full partner in his enterprises and ambitions.

Vince Vaughn will play Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.

The first couple of episodes will be directed by Justin Lin. Who’ll direct the other episodes remains unclear as execs will have to revisit the budget after they nail down Vince Vaughn’s donut budget.
