Charlie Hebdo Suspects Killed

The suspects responsible for France’s deadliest terrorist act in decades have been killed. Brothers Cherif Kouachi, 32, and Said Kouachi 34, apparently died in a shootout with police. The brothers had attacked the Paris offices of the satirical newspaper, Charlie Hebdo, on Wednesday, killing 10 journalists and 2 policemen. They obviously took a strong dislike to the satirical cartoons Charlie Hebdo printed about the Muslim prophet, Muhammad, shouting “We have avenged the prophet. We killed Charlie Hebdo.” as they murdered those inside. Too bad they never learned about turning the other cheek.

According to Reuters, the two brothers were part of a “Paris jihadist cell that a decade ago sent young French volunteers to Iraq to fight U.S. forces.”  Sounds like these two brothers didn’t know what to do after their major war ended. A bit like superstar athletes who don’t have a clue what to do in retirement and end up distributing cocaine. These two brothers needed that war fix. So, they murder innocent policemen in cold blood. (Video graphic and disturbing).

The two led police on a high speed chase and ended up in Dammartin-en-Goele. Business Insider reports:

The standoff in Dammartin-en-Goele comes after a high speed chase during which gunshots rang out and police trucks, ambulances, helicopters, and armored vehicles descended on the area close to Paris’s Charles de Gaulle airport.

The AP reports that Yves Albarello, a lawmaker who said he was inside the command post, said the two brothers “want to die as martyrs.”

How quaint. Does martyrdom exist anymore? People can’t remember what TV show they saw last week. No one’s going to remember the names of two randoms killing innocent people. They should’ve started a blog and made dumb jokes about the cartoonists instead. Then…THEN they’d be remembered.
