R.I.P. Tragically and Surprisingly Sir Christopher Lee Did Not Transcend Death

We bid a sad farewell to probably-an-actual wizard, Sir Christopher Lee. Lee passed in London on Sunday morning due to respiratory problems and heart failure. He had been receiving treatment for the past three weeks.

Sir Christopher Lee carried a notable career starting in the late 1940’s with bit parts in British films. His starring break came with The Curse of Frankenstein as the monster himself. Always the behemoth, we’ve watched Lee move from vampire to mummy, Sherlock Holmes to Fu Manchu. You probably remember him most from his creepy Count Dooku glares and looking his wizardly best as Saruman in The Lord of the Rings.

Also know for cult films like The Wicker Man, this 93-year-old acting vet will leave a villianly hole inside our hearts and make us miss when we could know from before the beginning of the film who was the bad guy. Rest in peace, Sir Christopher Lee; you were so good at being bad.
