To preface, I’ve never even played Assassin’s Creed because I don’t live in my parents basement anymore (I’m on the 1st floor now, bitches). If you’ll remember, Assassin’s Creed was the super popular video game series that everyone and their mother talked about for a year. Now it’s being made into a movie with Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard and a couple of others. While the movie opens December 2016, it’s never too early to do some marketing.
That up there? That’s The Fass (I get to call him that because we’re bros) as Callum Lynch. If you stopped mid-Cheeto munching and did a record scratch sound with your mouth asking who the hell Callum Lynch is, well, he’s a new character in the same world. You see, the movie isn’t so much a retelling as it is a new story.
As Yahoo describes, “Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.”
Suffice to say, there’s probably a 1 in 10 chance you’re going to see the guy sitting next to you in the theater do some serious phantom button mashing.
