Ned Flanders-Themed Metal Band for Metal Loving ‘Simpsons’ Fans

Everyone’s gotta have a gimmick and now there’s a Ned Flanders metal band, so everyone can go home.

Okilly Dokilly like to call themselves “the world’s only Nedal band” and show up to gigs in their Flanders best: khaki slacks, green pullovers covering pink buttoned-to-the-top shirts, and thick, hairy mustaches gracing each members’ face.

As a listener to not-metal, the only theme band I know is Harry and the Potters and there’s nothing like the literary references that sprinkle songs with lyrics like, “We’ve got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk, we’ve got to save the school again.” I can only image this is the equivalent for metal loving The Simpsons fans.

For those of you that do fall into that category, let me let them explain their sound. From Rip It Up:

“Not as fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk. Not as heavy as Homer Jent. Nedal is a happy medium in the Simpscene.”

I’m sure if those weren’t already The Simpsons themed metal bands, there are now.

The band hails from Phoenix, Arizona, and describes the goal of the band as “an over-the-top attempt at getting Matt Groening’s autograph, even if it comes on a cease and desist letter.”

Because they are the best hobbies I have ever seen, I will leave you with the hobby list they shared:

“Watching The Simpsons,“ “plenty of Futurama” and, of course, “politely asking for the return of our power tools, usually with little success.”

Arizonans, check them out in their first hometown show on September 5th.
