Winona Ryder Confirms ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel

Cha-ching! Payday for the cast of Beetlejuice. Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton and director Tim Burton will reunite for the late 80’s classic. Ryder went on Late Night with Seth Meyers and confirmed that the sequel’s happening.

“It was very hush-hush top-secret … but then (Tim Burton) was doing some press for ‘Big Eyes’ and and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah, we’re doing it, and Winona’s going to be in it.’ … If he said it, I can say it.”

Box office magic. There’s no script yet and who knows what’ll happen, but Burton has a good batting average when it comes to films. Hello, Big Eyes? Classic.

Ryder also talked about why she thought Beetlejuice‘s popularity endures even to little kids now.

Yes, little kids. And I think…I love that. I’m so touched by that. Because, how do they know?…There’s so much CGI and ‘Middle Earth’. There’s all this stuff…that they love ‘Beetlejuice’…It must mean there’s something sorta very pure about it in a weird way.

Also, strangely, Ryder says TSA agents have made her say “Beetlejuice” three times before letting her through. Glad TSA agents show professionalism and keep our airports safe.

The other surprising revelation from Ryder: her age. She told Meyers she’s turning 44 in October. Surprising that she’s almost 44 and looks 20ish. Which means she has a vat of baby’s blood at home she sucks down while watching shows on Bravo. Also surprising because actresses never reveal their age. They keep that information more secret than CIA interrogation tactics.
