12 Years Later, Here’s Our First Look at ‘Finding Dory’

I am…hesitant. Like every person alive in 2003, I couldn’t escape Finding Nemo. We watched it during every half day and with every science substitute teacher. However, we all did love that movie. It’s a great movie, really sad, and a little fish says “He touched the butt” in it. What’s not to love?

When they announced the sequel Finding Dory in 2013, based on the runaway hit character Dory, voiced by Ellen Degeneres – a fact I think more people know than who our sixth president was – we were all upset. We were all worried that Pixar was going to take the dark route of pointless sequels.

So here’s the trailer for a pointless sequel…

Except now it looks good. Now I kind of want to see it. I forgot how cute Dory was, how expressive her face is, and how sad I get when she’s sad.

Back when they announced it, Ellen Degeneres released a statement about her feelings on the new film,

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time. I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is — it’s got a lot more Dory.”

I’m probably going to definitely see this one. They wait long enough, then hit you right in the nostalgia bone.
