Jelani Maraj–older brother of famed Jamaica Queens female rapper, Nicki Minaj–has been charged with first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child after the alleged repeated rape of a 12-year-old child.
Following his Thursday arraignment, Maraj was released from Nassau County jail after posting his $100,000 bail (paid for by mogul sister? but extra negative PR for the maven) Not a far cry after Hollywood Life reports:
The “Anaconda” rapper reportedly took care of the payment for her big brother’s nuptials, which cost $300,000! She looked gorgeous at the wedding in a skintight red dress, and, of course, took to Instagram to gush over how happy she was that her family member had found the love of his life.
While no comments have been released by the courts or Maraj, he is set to appear in court again on December 9 and faces hefty sentencing with first degree rape being a felony conviction carrying 5-25 years in prison in the State of New York.
