Serena Williams Live Ultimate Run South Beach is a 5K set up by Serena Williams benefitting the Serena Williams Fund (which is a fund distributed among various charities). Like previous years, Serena ran it. Unlike previous years, she decided to cab it to the finish line halfway through.
Photos of Williams hopping into a taxi in the middle of the run caused many to boo and hiss. At least until they remembered the knee and elbow injury that ended her 2015 run may still be affecting her. Williams took to Facebook to explain herself.

Serena’s sister Venus did finish the run and got a fancy medal. Bad news for Serena because she won’t hear the end of it during Christmas dinner.
