Harry Styles to Take Different Direction Than His One Direction in Official Split With Longtime Management Group

One Direction isn’t the only direction for the waning popularity of boy bands. Following a mild resurgence of the boy band when Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan were forced together on the 2009 season of The X Factor, like all fads, it’s a trend of the past.

The band reportedly chose to split last month instead of taking the indefinite hiatus that had originally been released. With Louis Tomlinson a new dad, Zayn Malik pursuing his own solo career with the release of “Pillowtalk,” Niall Horan always being mostly a flop and Liam Payne being gorgeous enough to create his own brand of girl-craze and obsession, the only thing that makes sense anymore would be for Harry Styles to cut the cord, unleashing more of his fabulosity onto the world.

So he did. In a bold move, Styles cut the cord with his longtime management team, Modest Management and has officially signed with CCA Management’s Jeffery Azoff. As Modest executives, Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee released to Billboard:

We wish Harry the very best. It has been a real pleasure working with him. Harry is a total gentleman, and we know our good friend Jeffrey Azoff will look after him.

Seems suspiciously classy for a move that might potentially cost the company millions, but hey… maybe it’s not all about the money. It probably is, but maybe it’s not.
