President Obama Brought Ellen DeGeneres to Tears

President Barack Obama appeared on February 12’s The Ellen Show and made Ellen cry! Talk about impolite. Obviously without having taken the college class on proper compliment etiquette, Ellen takes time out of the interview to personally thank Obama for his efforts in helping the gay community and Obama deflects like any girl who believes herself to be ugly. Nonono, you’re drop dead gorgeous, not me.

After staking claim to his pride over his work towards LBTQ acceptance from a policy standpoint, Obama stole the show by telling Ellen she did more for societal acceptance:

We were driving over here today — and I meant this. I said it to my staff — I said, as much as we’ve done with laws and ending ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’ et cetera, changing hearts and minds — I don’t think anybody has been more influential than you on that. I really mean that. You being willing to claim who you were, that suddenly empowers other people. And then suddenly, it’s your brother, it’s your uncle, it’s your best friend, it’s your coworkers. And then attitudes shift. And the law is followed, but it started with folks like you. I’m so proud of you.

There’s something really lovable about our Barry O and it shines bright here. A tearful Ellen sticks to what she knows and lightens the mood by saying she’s only been acting gay this whole time.
