Ben Affleck Has Another ‘Batman’ Script Ready

If you haven’t seen Zack Snyder’s latest contribution to the cinematic universe, Batman vs Superman, at this point you have to or you’re going to be left out. I’ll keep it succinct: It’s bad, but it’s Zack Snyder. It sacrifices plot points for visual effects. It’s a movie you literally have to watch, you can’t think any further into it. The movie stars Ben Affleck as Batman (or some incarnation of Batman from someone whom has never read a Batman comic) and Henry Cavill as Superman. Now forget about Henry Cavill for this particular article.

Ben Affleck has gone on record to say that the writing of Batman vs Superman is lacking in its entirety. He’s also made no effort to hide his disappointment with the film in his press, now having become another human meme contribution. Having already signed on to appear in the next two Justice League movies, Affleck took matters into his own hands in hopes to potentially renew the people’s faith in his character. In a Hollywood Reporter interview, Patrick Whitesell, WME-IMG’s CEO, teased that there might even be another Affleck-era Batman film to come. Whitesell spills:

There’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.

He’s been rumored to be in talks with Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer, about starring and directing his own Batman film since last year. Affleck’s Batman is also set to appear in this summer’s Suicide Squad. It’s a Batman-saturated market right now. We’re now contractually obligated to turn out in record-breaking numbers to see Affleck in a Batsuit and cape for the next three years. At least.
