Gwyneth Paltrow Voluntarily Got Stung by Bees for Beauty

Gwyneth Paltrow will try anything ludicrous and expensive just to live to tell us the tale. Since every woman spends $200 a day on a smoothie and allots $22,000 a month for beauty budgeting, Gwyneth Paltrow is the pinnacle of the everywoman. She’s so down to earth, she’ll take anything from it and slather it all over her beautiful body. Now she wants to sell you on the affordability, practicality and necessity of bee stinging for beauty… and she knows, because she’s done it.

Promoting her new skincare line, Gwyneth divulged some of her most crucial tips on how to stay looking 27 despite being 43, and evidently, one of those secrets is bees:

People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It’s actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it’s painful. I haven’t done cryotherapy yet, but I do want to try that.

The practice, called apitherapy, is used to treat scarring and inflammation and the beauty guru describes it as painful but worth it. The actress claims that after just one apitherapy session an old injury completely vanished. However, if getting stung by 15 cent bees (go to a children’s playground and piss off a swarm for free) doesn’t sound good, Gwen urges you not to swear off the benefits of bee byproducts yet.

I was recommended bee pollen, raw honey and propolis for various purposes. So far, these recommendations have worked for me.

While I don’t have an entire career behind me to market my credibility, I too would do anything to feel beautiful once if it means the void might shout back, yaaaas girl werk. I get high on that. So here’s to going back to my memories of summer camp capture the flag, where even the best hidden hornet’s nest wasn’t hidden well enough for me.
