Ben Affleck hasn’t even finished half of the films he’s contractually obligated to play as our dark caped, iron-nipple clad hero, but Will Smith has set his eyes on bringing Bruce Wayne to life as a black man. Will Smith, who has been occupied for the better half of the last year filming Suicide Squad as Deadshot, is bold in his expectations for future employment, but it’s nearly as ridiculous as it sounds. Joking in interview with MTV, Smith says his idea isn’t totally uncalled for, he’s thought this out:
There was one of the comics … when Bruce Wayne got injured and I think Deadshot, for a couple [of issues], came in. He had to throw on the Batsuit. So I’m just saying, if they were gonna to draw from that … I wouldn’t reject it. I’m a team player. I’m a team player … If they need me in a suit, I’m in it … [Ben Affleck] can do it a couple, can do it for two or three, and then he gets injured and Deadshot can take over. For me it’s the logical progression.
Justified like that, it totally makes a hell of a lot more sense. He’s even worked on the trademark hoarse Batman voice to assure a seamless transition from one character to another, Deadshot to Batman.
Will Smith has that Batman growl down, just in case they need him to suit up for #SuicideSquad. https://t.co/mCxYmdIp0F
