Director James Wan Addresses Rumors of Him Quitting ‘Aquaman’

The worst thing in life is other people. No one understands this better than artists. Because of the general inconvenience of other people, it’s often hard to work in groups. Right now, no one understands that better than Aquaman director, James Wan. Wan’s been been suffering a whole lot of backlash following his partner and The Flash director, Seth Grahame-Smith, abandoning the project citing the generic ‘creative differences’ as his reason for leaving. Since the news broke about Grahame-Smith, rumors have been circulating that Wan would also ditch his director’s chair.

Whether this is just a photo Wan loves of himself or it’s an affirmation of his standing by Aquaman is unclear, but the director did take to feeding the trolls a little bit.

But not without first telling the fans to stop their nonsense. He tweets at the fans:

He also defends his previous co-director. Creative differences don’t automatically mean you want the other person dead…

Sources close to the director claim that Wan’s public persona might be standing tall with Aquaman, but his private self is having some issues reconciling his product. Regardless, we’re going to be seeing a whole lot of work from Wan this summer with The Conjuring 2 and Lights OutAquaman is still far out on the horizon as far as upcoming superhero movies go, so we’re really just going to have to wait to see how this one unfolds.
