James Wan to Direct CBS’s New (But Not Really) Fall Series ‘MacGyver’ Pilot

Yeah, because we all fucking want more reboots, remakes, and spin offs. I know that’s what makes my dick hard.

From Deadline:

CBS’ new fall series MacGyver, a reimagining of  the 1985 show about a resourceful and ingenious agent, is getting its original director, James Wan.

While that’s cool that they got the original director and some of the original talent on board I’m ready to start boycotting unoriginal repackaged TV shows and movies on principle. Show me something new before I rip my fucking hair out.

The Saw and Furious 7  helmer had been shepherding the project from the get-go and was slated to direct the pilot but pulled out due to a scheduling conflict with post-production on his latest film, The Conjuring 2, which just opened big at the box office. He was replaced by David Von Ancken.

They are making some changes, but I’m already bored with the entertainment industry trying to turn Walkmen into iPhones that I still want to fight them. Seeing how James Wan does his stuff is kind of the national sport of my country though. Anyone else pumped for Aquaman?

In the original pilot MacGyver was recruited into the clandestine organization from the original series where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening.

MacGyver now creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives.

Wow, like a Fox Mulder that actually figures s**t out? I find that offensive.

Thanks for being as boring and irrelevant as ever CBS.
