Gretchen Carlson Wouldn’t Have Sex With Her Boss So She Was Fired

Say whatever you want about Gretchen Carlson. and I’ll probably join in. but she’s a woman just as much as I am and for that I have to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry that she has to walk through this life in a woman’s shoes. I’m sorry that she’s endured sexual trauma after sexual trauma, been objectified for her entire career and most likely hired by Fox News because they liked her pretty face and smile. I’m sorry that she was fired by Fox News for refusing to have sex with her boss. I’m sorry that she was paid less by Fox News the entire time she was on television and I’m sorry that she has to publicly endure what many of us would prefer to endure privately. Now Carlson is fighting back with a powerful lawsuit alleging wrongful termination and sexual harassment.

Carlson released a statement that no matter how much I disagree with her way of life, I can’t help but get misty eyed over:

I have strived to empower women and girls throughout my entire career. Although this was a difficult step to take, I had to stand up for myself and speak out for all women and the next generation of women in the workplace. I am extremely proud of my accomplishments at Fox News and for keeping our loyal viewers engaged and informed on events and news topics of the day.

If there’s a correct one to make a statement, that’s the way to do it. Politico reports:

The complaint goes on to allege that Carlson was fired from “Fox & Friends” in 2013 because she complained about co-host Steve Doocy’s actions. Ailes, the complaint alleges, mocked Carlson and told her to stop being offended “so God damned easy.” Though she was moved to host her own show in the afternoon hour, the complaint alleges that the move was a demotion and that Ailes “reduced her compensation and withheld network support and promotion for her show.”

And then three years later, she was fired. The formal complaint is against Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, but Doocy is also cited for his hand in the Carlson’s ongoing mistreatment. I know you’re here because you’re hoping I can make you laugh about the current state of affairs, but not today. I am so sad today. I wish her the best possible outcome in her suit.

I’m a conservative, and I hate Fox News. Hate it. Of course, I also hate MSNBC and CNN. Sick of the lack of real news and the overabundance of party propaganda. Our news media sucks in our country. Thanks Rupert!

As to Carlson, she was a marginal talent. But if the allegations are true, hope Ailes and Doocy pay out the nose for it.

Maybe somebody did tell her to put out but her argument as presented her is full of crap. 1. She was on a show and didn’t like another host so they punish her by giving her a ONE HOUR show all by herself. 2. We are suppose to believe that she was on the air with this show for 3 YEARS and the company didn’t support the show. You also left out the part where her show was the 14th rated show on Fox and after 3 years wasn’t gaining in audience. You also left out that her contract that… Read more »

Good, she deserved to be for not making with the sex! She’d have been lucky to have someone gnawing on her wrinkled meat curtains.
