Taylor Is Taking the Credit for Calvin’s Latest Hit

Sometimes you’re Taylor. Sometimes you’re Calvin. Who are you today?

This morning the news broke that Taylor Swift had actually written the words for Calvin Harris’ smash hit, “This Is What You Came For”, featuring the omnipresent Rihanna. After Taylor’s squad and unstoppable publicity machine started the rumor that Taylor had actually written all the lyrics… Calvin took to Twitter to address everything. He didn’t @ her tho.

TMZ, like always, seems to know exactly what happened:

 During their relationship, Taylor wrote the song, sat down at a piano and did a demo into her iPhone. She sent it to Calvin, who loved it. They both went into a studio and did a full demo with Taylor on vocals and Calvin doing the beat.

They decided not to go ahead with recording the song together and Taylor decided to take credit under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg because they felt the collaboration would cheapen the song as a publicity stunt.

The problem in the relationship came the day the song was released. Calvin appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and Ryan asked, “Will you do a collaboration with your girlfriend?” Calvin responded, “You know we haven’t even spoken about it. I can’t see it happening though.”

Every step of the way I’m amazed by the petty nature of functioning, real life adults with better things to do. First step of being a part of the world: Nothing is real and nothing means anything. Deal with it.

SIDE NOTE: Taylor could get pettier. As the owner of the rights to the song, she could stop Calvin from ever performing the song live. But I don’t think that’s in her plan. Bitch just wanted to f**k his s**t up… and you know what? I feel.
