‘Pumpkinhead’ Is Getting Remade, Guys

#BoycottRemakes2k4Eva

I know it’s cheaper to keep regurgitating intellectual property you already own or people already know about than take a risk on anything scary and new when your business is movies, but f**k all y’all. I’m not seeing a single goddamn remake, reboot, spin off, sequel, prequel, or any other fucking thing churned out by these assholes.

At least according to Entertainment Weekly, the dude who exec produced Saw is gonna be on this.

EW can exclusively reveal that Saw franchise executive producer Peter Block has acquired the rights to the Pumpkinhead franchise and plans on shooting a reboot of the horror series in 2017. Block is currently looking for a filmmaker to direct the project, which he will produce, and which he plans to be a theatrical release.

Saw pretty much changed modern horror, so this guy probably will have a good handle on it. Maybe it will even be good. I don’t know, there was already four of these movies about a demon with a pumpkin for a head fucking s**t up and I don’t really think we need another one. I think this is how I’ll probably feel in 2040 when they make Hellraiser 17: The Hellraisining.

Block had this to say:

“There is a similarity of theme and a similarity of story. There’s a lot of Easter eggs for people who know the original — iconic shots and iconic lines that we’re going to use. But we’ve enhanced the setting, and we’ve expanded the characters somewhat, to give it a different kind of experience.”

Whatever, man.
